Tips & Tricks

  • Press on a completely flat surface, free from seams, collars, or hems. Use a pressing pillow if needed.
  • Adjust the finish: Teflon (glossy), parchment (matte), or another shirt (matte) —these also further embed your artwork into the fabric.
  • Start peeling near the boldest part of your design, avoiding fine details.
  • Peel the carrier sheet back over itself, not away from the shirt.
  • Lay the finished garment flat to cool completely before packing.
  • To know the center of a transfer, some people like to fold the transfer in half based on the printed area and make a small fold mark on the top/bottom of the transfer to serve as a guide mark
  • For smaller 15" x 15" heat presses, secure with a clamp to keep it firmly in place and prevent shifting during application. This ensures even pressure and consistent results.
  • Use a laser to align transfers for large projects, knowing the measurement of your 4 fingers together (usually 3") also helps
  • Care Instructions

  • Turn garment inside out. Do not use bleach. Use mild detergent. Machine wash cold on a delicate cycle. Avoid fabric softeners. Tumble dry low. Do not dry clean. Do not iron design.
  • Artwork File Guidelines

    For best results:
    • File type: png, svg, pdf, jpg
    • "Vector" or "raster at 300dpi".
    • Make backgrounds transparent unless you want the background printed.
    • Trim excess transparent background borders
    • Export exact size or larger than needed.
    • Colors may look different when converted to CMYK for DTF printing.
    • Fonts or lines thinner than 6px might not print well because there isn't enough space for the white underbase and adhesive to stick properly.
    • Avoid glow effects, gradients, and soft edges because DTF printers have trouble printing these designs correctly.
    • Making a 300dpi image bigger can cause blurry or pixelated prints.
    • We do not correct spelling or image quality.
    • Artwork can be between 1" x 1" up to 22.5" x 100" inches.
    • Enlarging a 300dpi image can cause blurry or pixelated prints (example: 3" Width to a 6" Width).

How do I apply a DTF transfer?

Applying a DTF transfer is simple! Just follow these steps:
    1. Place the transfer on your fabric.
    2. Press it with a heat press at 300°F for 7 seconds - use heavy pressure. (275°F for 100% polyester)
    3. Let it cool for about 15 seconds, then peel.
    4. Press again for a few seconds to ensure lasting durability.
You'll get a professional-quality result in no time! Check out our instructional videos for a step-by-step guide.

Can I apply DTF transfers with a regular iron?

It’s possible, but we highly recommend using a heat press for the best results. A regular iron may not provide even pressure or reach the ideal temperature needed for a flawless transfer. However, if you’re in a pinch, you can use an iron—just apply firm, steady pressure. Our tests with an iron have resulted in visible bubbles after washing the garment.

    How durable are DTF transfers?

DTF transfers are designed for long-lasting performance! They withstand regular washing, daily wear, and all kinds of activity without fading or cracking. Your designs will stay bold and vibrant for 50+ washes, ensuring your custom creations look great over time.

How do I wash a garment with a DTF transfer?

To keep your design looking fresh, wash your garment inside-out in cold water. For best results, tumble dry on low or air dry and avoid bleach and fabric softeners. Following these care tips will help your transfer stay vibrant and long-lasting!

Are DTF transfers safe for children's clothing?

Yes! Our DTF transfers are non-toxic and completely safe for kids' clothing. You can confidently use them on baby onesies, toddler tees, and other garments, knowing they are family-friendly and gentle on the skin.

What should I do if my transfer starts to peel?

If your transfer begins to peel, no worries! Just reheat the area using a heat press or an iron with kraft paper placed over the design. Apply firm pressure and press for a few more seconds. This will help re-bond the transfer, restoring its durability and keeping it looking as good as new.

How long can DTF transfers be stored?

DTF transfers can last 6-12 months when stored properly. Keep them in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture, to ensure they stay in top condition and ready-to-use whenever you need them.

    What's a gang sheet?

A gang sheet is a large sheet that holds multiple designs placed close together. This helps save space and materials when printing.

What DPI does my 10" x 7" Inch design need to be?

For optimal print quality, your 10" x 7" design should be at 300 DPI (dots per inch).

    DPI Calculation:
To determine the required pixel dimensions:
    • Width: 10 inches × 300 DPI = 3,000 pixels
    • Height: 7 inches × 300 DPI = 2,100 pixels
So, your 10" x 7" design should be at least 3,000 x 2,100 pixels at 300 DPI for sharp and clear DTF printing.

If your image is in lower DPI, scaling it up can cause pixelation or blurriness. Let me know if you need help optimizing your artwork!
